Does anyone know how to OCR the KK Phonics symbol?

I have to edit & re-arrange many English educational books (Americans) that contained many KK (Kenyon & Knott phonetic symbols). After I scan & OCR the page, the English alphabetical words were correctly OCR-ed into editable texts/ characters, but not the KK phonic symbols that follow (They appear as irregular random symbols/ characters). How to OCR the KK phonic symbols correctly so they become editable? Any suggestions are welcome, thanks a lot!!
