Hockey fans: is 16 playoff teams too many?

As an MLB, NFL, and NHL fan, I am used to all kinds of different playoff systems. I think the NFL has it about right, where 12 of the 32 teams make the playoffs. I feel like 8/30 in baseball isn't enough, and 16/30 in hockey is too many. How do you feel about the NHL's playoff system?
